Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:

Works under general supervision in this key warehouse role. Performs quality comparisons of manufactured and purchased parts to established applicable standards, noting all items of nonconformances with quality and reliability standards. Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new standards, methods, or procedures. This position requires one to three years’ experience and technical training. Reports to Quality Assurance Supervisor or Plant Manager. Must be reliable, have a good attitude, strong work ethic and be self-motivated, as well as being committed to continuous improvement and growth.

·Assists with pre-production setup checks/audits of both slitting & shearing department production orders including performance testing of in-line thickness gages and pinhole detectors.

·Assists in monitoring the output quality of goods to assure that customer standards are being met and that no process damage is occurring.

·Maintains and performs all aspects of the Gage Calibration Program. Responsible for all in-house certifications as well as arranging on-site and lab services to certify instruments & processes to the established frequencies.

·Manages non-conforming material including approval process/logic, conducting impound/quarantine protocols, collecting & identifying samples,

documentation/labeling

& reporting, vendor claim entries & presentations, moving staging material.

·Data mining, record research, investigating quality issues including the initiation of Customer Complaint Investigations (CCI), product testing, Paint Adhesion Testing (PAT), root cause analysis, establishing and auditing prevention methods.

·Produce Return Material Authorization documents related to accepted field complaints

QUALIFICATIONS:

·Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills.

·Experience in Quality Management and Quality Auditing.

·2 years’ experience working in a metal products / manufacturing environment.

·Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP).

·Experience using calipers, micrometers, Rockwell hardness testers, and profilometers preferred.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products is a must.

·Industrial metals knowledge preferred but not required.

·Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

·High school diploma or equivalency. Advanced Quality Control training or education a plus.

·Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

·Solid basic math skills a must.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·Must be in good health.

·Able to lift and work with 40 pounds.

·Can maintain a strong level of performance in a productive environment.

·Must be able and willing to work overtime past regularly scheduled shifts and/or Saturdays.
