Job Description Salary: $17.00 / hour Department: Recreation Part-Time | Hourly Non-exempt

What Youll Do: Plan and lead engaging lesson plans and activities for young children. Ensure classrooms are fully prepared with the necessary materials and supplies. Adapt activities as needed to maintain childrens interest and participation. Assist children during activities, encouraging positive social interaction and skill development. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Support assistants with setup, cleanup, and organization of materials. Arrive 30 minutes before class and stay 15 minutes after to prepare and reset the classroom. Communicate promptly with the Recreation Supervisor about absences, needs, or concerns. Uphold Park District policies and represent the District in a professional manner.
What You Bring: Must be at least 18 years old. Completion of mandated reporter training (required). First Aid and CPR certification (preferred or willingness to obtain). Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to stay calm, positive, and flexible in a classroom setting. Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety. Ability to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, and some weekends.
