SUMMARY:
Directs the activities and performs daily management of the Underwriting and Collections team. Manages lending risk consistent with organization philosophy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains satisfactory asset quality of loan portfolio Reviews loan applications to analyze for credit quality and program acceptance. Approves mortgage and consumer loan requests Organizes and monitors loan files to ensure timely processing Oversees post-closing audit functions including reports and account maintenance Assists in product development and vendor procurement Interfaces/corresponds
directly with credit union business partners Manages automated underwriting systems Monitors and adheres to mortgage loan investor requirements Manages collection function for all loan types Confirms and approves mortgage wires Assist with administration of loan origination systems (Meridian Link) Manages indirect loan participation relationship Prepares
weekly/monthly/quarterly
management reports Ensures loan compliance at State and Federal level Other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field Experience Required: Three (3) years of mortgage and consumer underwriting experience and three (3) years of prior management experience Experience Preferred: Three (3) years of mortgage and consumer loan underwriting and management experience, with one (1) year being in a financial institution
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for overseeing employees’ performance, identifying development areas, addressing employee relations issues and providing direction, support, training and regular coaching. Responsible for communicating organizational needs and updates Supervises: Senior Underwriter, Member Solutions Specialist
TRAVEL:
Occasional local and national
travel may be required to attend peer networking groups, training and conferences
