Medical Assistant ( Health Operations Clinical Support Administrator ) Location: Tinley Park Travel- 80-90% - local clinics Compensation: $20 - $22 per hour

Position Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the SVP of Health Operations, this position will work directly with clinical staff to ensure related workflows are followed, clinical inboxes are managed properly and assist with monitoring equipment inventory checks and hazardous waste removal

Key Responsibilities: Assist with workflow compliance directly related to all clinical duties in an ambulatory care setting.

Conduct inventory checks on medical equipment and supplies to ensure maintenance and compliance during on-site visits and reconcile with the BioMed vendor. Assist with ordering supplies and equipment from McKesson and other medical supply vendors. Coordinate and maintain communication with the hazardous waste vendor to ensure ongoing scheduled services. Maintain a weekly report on clinical inbox compliance per location, maintain as needed communication with Patient Care Supervisors and designated Medical Assistants regarding compliance, and provide staff guidance if applicable. Complete chart reviews for possible patient discharge and present findings to the Q & S ad hoc patient discharge committee. Complete chart reviews for patient complaints and present findings to Health leadership. Complete chart audits for Title X diagnosis codes. Monitor the Daily Depression Screening completion report and assign follow-up to the identified Medical Assistant for reconciliation. Monitor weekly missing slips report and assign to the designated Patient Care Supervisor or Medical Assistant for reconciliation. Provide any applicable guidance to ensure completion. Monitor schedules to ensure patients are scheduled for retinal eye exams and provide on-site oversight during clinic visits to ensure competency. Provide on-site support to assist medical assistants with routine duties up to four times per month to ensure coverage and provide coaching to staff for maintaining compliance related to clinical workflows. Assist with clinical prior authorizations, patient cases, and morbidity reports as needed Plan for and participate in events such as committee meetings, educational sessions, etc., that may fall outside of normal business hours Administrative Duties: Distribute weekly clinical-inbox and task-compliance reports by location. Support quality assurance through chart reviews for potential patient discharges. Assist in planning committee meetings and off-hour events as needed. Maintain contact with vendors for services such as hazardous-waste removal. Qualifications: Active CPR certification. Completion of a Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate). Certified MA (CMA/RMA) strongly preferred. Minimum 3 years Medical Assistant Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel between clinic locations as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
