Job Description Salary: $17-$18 per hour DOQ Job Title: Assistant Director of Day Care Department: Youth Education Reports To: Day Care Director FLSA status: Part-time, Non-exempt, IMRF eligible

Summary The Assistant Director of Day Care helps to manage a childcare program for children age 6 weeks to 5 years adhering to the regulations and guidelines of PDRMA (Park District Risk Management Agency); DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services); the Kane County Health Department; the Hampshire Park District, and Little People Playtime. The Assistant Director will utilize all available resources of the Park District and its Staff to ensure a smooth and effective delivery of services to patrons of the Day Care Program while maintaining the Safety of the Staff and participants. The Assistant Director must understand and comply with Little People Playtime policies and procedures, be familiar with the procedures of reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protective Services, address issues and concerns from parents, hold new-parent orientations, and help when needed. The Assistant Director will need to have availability Monday through Friday 12:30pm 5:30pm, work over 1000 hours per year to maintain IMRF qualification, and need to work no less than twenty (20) hours per week and no more than twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Qualifications Possess the current requirement of DCFS for semester hours/quarter hours/clock

hours/experience/CDA

as stated in DCFS Section 407.130, including management requirements Submit to the required DCFS fingerprinting and background search Submit certificates of completion for the current DCFS Standards regarding specific trainings and credentials OR within 30 days of initial hiring DCFS are requirement is 21 years old Provide a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) Fulfill the 15 to 20 hours of continuing education as required by DCFS Standards during each calendar year Experience preferred with groups of children birth to five years Submit to the required DCFS fingerprinting and background search CPR/First Aid certified or willing to complete these within 30 days of employment Food Handler training completion upon employment
