POSITION:
Structures Engineer
LOCATION: Jupiter, FL STATUS: Salary Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following: Analyze Industrial Gas Turbine Engine component designs to ensure parts maintain appropriate stress levels, meets life requirements and design criteria. Utilize appropriate analysis/design tools, such as ANSYS/Abaqus, Microsoft Excel, ProEngineer or similar. Support the continued development and oversee the adherence to PSM technical reviews, engineering changes and field validation plans and verification. Assess needs and identify critical path schedules for design, manufacturing and procurement activities. Create, lead and/or deliver presentations to internal and external clients. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required. Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix
Skills/Experience
2+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and manufacturing gas turbine engine components and/or large rotating components. Combination of education, experience and research work will be considered. Strong analytical decision-making and organizational skills are required. Experience with FEA software desired (ANSYS or Abaqus). Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, general machining and fabrication techniques is preferred. Familiar with vibration and dynamics analysis of rotating structures. Familiar with advanced FEM modeling techniques such as nonlinearity, contact, and creep. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to perform hands-on fieldwork is strongly desired. Travel is required on an as needed basis.
