RELIEF DETOX COUNSELOR

Buckelew Programs Inc . We are hiring relief Detox Counselors for the Orenda Center, a co-ed detox program in Sonoma County providing 24/7 withdrawal management in a non-residential setting. Responsibilities include assessing, intake/discharge, charting, individual counseling, emotional support, maintaining logs, monitoring medication, and crisis intervention. Relief staff work as needed with no set schedule and may also work at the Helen Vine Recovery Center in San Rafael, Marin County. Responsibilities:
Perform assessments, intakes, discharges, charting, and monitor clients. Provide individual counseling and emotional support. Coordinate with Navigator for referrals and client needs. Perform crisis intervention; uphold rules and team response. Manage emergencies, evaluate situations, call 911 when necessary. Log shift information, complete incident reports, and prepare shift logs. Ensure safety of clients and staff, maintain confidentiality. Facilitate and monitor groups, monitor medication self-administration. Attend supervision, participate in training and meetings. Understand and strive to achieve the program’s mission. Uphold facility structure and supervise laundry duties as needed. Qualifications:
Minimum of a High School Diploma. Registered to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor through CAARH or equivalent. Proficient in written and verbal communication. Experience with mentally disabled and dual-diagnosed populations preferred. Knowledge of AA/NA programs. Skills & Abilities:
Ability to relate well with others, multitask, be empathetic, warm, firm, supportive. Good communication skills, team player, computer literate, First Aid/CPR certified. Valid driver’s license with insurable record. Flexible schedule. Knowledge of local resources. Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform activities like stretching, bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, walking, driving, writing, standing, hearing, and sitting. Vision requirements include reading print/electronic info. Must pass TB test. Note:
Maintain registration/certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor through CADTP, CCAPP, or approved equivalent. Loss of registration/certification affects employment qualification. Additional Details:
