This role requires SME skills in the following areas: Diagnose production problems on Unix hosts using standard debugging tools for hardware, CPU capacity, memory, network, and I/O. Manage performance and capacity, collect metrics for analysis, and leverage them for performance, stability, and overall environment enhancement. Coordinate changes across Storage, Network, Database, and application-specific changes. Maintain good communication skills. Run projects and provide management updates. Follow up with vendors for root cause analysis. Ensure Unix systems are maintained to established baselines to eliminate single points of failure and comply with regulatory controls. Support End of Life, quarterly OS patching, and DR test initiatives. Qualifications

Qualifications include: 10+ years of knowledge in core Unix ecosystems such as AD/Centrify, GLDAP, NIS, DNS, and NFS. 10+ years of knowledge of Linux (Red Hat 5 & 6, SLES 10). Highly desirable knowledge of Solaris 10, with a focus on Linux as a growth area. 10+ years of performance analysis and tuning experience. SME knowledge of storage multipathing (PowerPath, VxDMP, RedHat DM). SME knowledge of disk management tools such as DiskSuite, LVM, VxVM. SME knowledge of network resiliency tools such as IPMP, NIC teaming. Knowledge of clustering tools like Veritas Cluster Server, Red Hat Clustering. Knowledge of SAN technology and its impact on the server environment. 10+ years troubleshooting skills in CPU, I/O, network, and memory. 10+ years of TCP/IP stack experience. 7+ years of Shell/Perl scripting experience. 10+ years of distributed systems management. Knowledge and support of large database environments such as Oracle RAC, Sybase, Sybase IQ. Experience with Puppet, Spacewalk, or RedHat Satellite is required.
