A law firm located in Fresno, CA is expanding its litigation team and seeking a seasoned attorney with strong experience in criminal defense. Duties:
Represent clients in criminal matters across local, state, and federal jurisdictions Provide strategic legal guidance tailored to individual client needs and case specifics Prepare and review legal filings, including motions, briefs, and related documentation Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support defense strategies Attend and advocate at arraignments, hearings, depositions, and trials Develop comprehensive case strategies and evaluate potential case outcomes Interview clients, witnesses, and expert resources to build strong defenses Maintain consistent communication with clients and provide updates regarding legal options and proceedings Collaborate with internal legal staff, including fellow attorneys and legal assistants Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal defense litigation Proven ability to manage a substantial caseload independently Skilled in legal analysis, case development, and courtroom advocacy Capable of handling sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment Adept at navigating complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Must be admitted to practice law in California and in good standing Skills:
Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills High emotional intelligence and client engagement ability Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management capabilities Comfortable using legal research tools and case management systems Fluency in Spanish preferred, though not required Collaborative mindset with a willingness to contribute to team goals
