Job Title: Pipefitter
Job Description
The pipefitter will operate and care for construction equipment, tools, and machinery. They will safely operate construction equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, and forklifts. Responsibilities include building and setting concrete formwork, reinforcing and concrete placement, safely completing excavations, establishing grades, and completing backfill operations. The pipefitter will install both below-grade and above-grade mechanical piping, complete pre-task planning, and be ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain construction equipment, tools, and machinery.
Safely operate construction equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, and forklifts.
Build and set concrete formwork, reinforcing, and concrete placement.
Understand and safely complete excavations, establish grades, and complete backfill operations.
Install below-grade and above-grade mechanical piping.
Complete pre-task planning.
Work with Ductile Iron Pipe and HDPE pipe (black synthetic pipe).
Perform pipe fitting and installation up to 24 inches in diameter and 40 feet in length.
Bolt together pipes and fuse HDPE piping.
Learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
Essential Skills
Experience in pipe fitting, blueprint reading, and pipe installation.
Ability to read blueprints.
Physical ability to perform labor and strenuous tasks.
Experience in the construction industry.
Punctuality and reliability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in Water/Wastewater is preferred.
Experience with concrete work, enough to handle small sections of sidewalks, is a plus.
Ownership of personal tools is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preference is given to those with a experience in Water/Wastewater. The role requires working both underground and above ground with various pipe materials.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
