We are seeking a reliable and compassionate
Medical Assistant (MA)
to join our Urgent Care team. The MA supports healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Patient Care
Greet, room, and prepare patients for examination. Record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, height, weight). Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, and current medications. Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments (e.g., wound care, injections, splints). Administer medications and immunizations as directed by provider. Perform basic laboratory testing (urinalysis, strep, flu, COVID swabs, pregnancy tests). Conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection, labeling, and preparation for lab processing. Perform EKGs, vision/hearing screenings, and other diagnostic tests.
Clinical Operations
Maintain clean, well-stocked, and organized exam rooms. Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment. Adhere to infection control and OSHA safety standards. Support triage of walk-in patients and assist with urgent/emergent needs.
Administrative Support
Document all patient encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) accurately and timely. Handle patient intake, insurance verification, and consent forms as needed. Assist with scheduling, referrals, and follow-up instructions. Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients under supervision.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification preferred: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or NCMA (NCCT). CPR/BLS certification required. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in Urgent Care, Emergency, or Primary Care setting. Skills & Competencies Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and injections. Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Compassionate, patient-centered care approach. Dependability and teamwork mindset. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods. Lift or assist patients and equipment up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity for clinical procedures. 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Schedule:
2–3 shifts per week Availability:
Must be able to work both weekdays and weekends (schedule may vary) Compensation: Medical Assistants:
$18–$21 per hour , depending on experience and education
