Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

In this role, you will focus on electrical troubleshooting and maintenance in a highly automated manufacturing facility. The position requires a strong experience in both electrical and mechanical systems, with a primary emphasis on electrical expertise. You will work with various conveyors and electro-mechanical components, ensuring machinery communicates efficiently with PLC systems.

Responsibilities

Combine mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to resolve issues.

Work on automated machinery, maintaining tight tolerances.

Handle and work comfortably with 480V systems.

Experience with single and three-phase motors and drives is essential.

Possess foundational PLC experience, specifically in inputs and outputs.

Read and interpret schematics and blueprints effectively.

Prioritize electrical troubleshooting and PLC experience.

Maintain understanding of applicable codes and standards, such as NEC.

Ensure adherence to OSHA safety disciplines.

Read and interpret electrical drawings, with European standards knowledge as a plus.

Possess knowledge of and experience with PLC control systems, including ladder logic.

Demonstrate at least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.

Essential Skills

Electrical troubleshooting expertise.

Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Understanding of NEC and OSHA safety standards.

Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Base PLC experience and control systems knowledge.

Competency in working with motors, drives, and high voltage systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Associates degree preferred; technical certifications or verifiable training considered.

High-speed manufacturing experience is crucial.

Familiarity with NFPA 70E and National Electrical Code is advantageous.

Experience with instrumentation, controls, PLCs, and VFDs.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large, 16-acre climate-controlled facility. The position requires working a 12-hour night shift, following a 2, 2, 3 schedule. Training will initially be on a day shift for the first few months. Personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear protection, is required. Uniforms and specialty tools are provided. The facility encourages a safe and collaborative work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Asheboro, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
