Job SummaryResponsible for the daily operation of the machinery involved in batching and packaging polymeric sand bags. Operates plant machinery as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring that the dryer is functioning properly and dries at the right temperature and flow rate, thus respecting the directives on how to manipulate the equipment. Makes necessary process adjustment as neededWork in an environment using combustible material (propane)Responsible to fill the dryer with the proper sand as per manufacturing orders and assuring that the dryer works at all times during the shiftSupports the production laborer when you are not drying sand or when requested by the companyOther duties and/or responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned as neededJob RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the job.High school diploma or GED equivalent; experience in trades specific to job requirements; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedural manualsA self-starter and the ability to work independentlyStrong teamwork and communication skillsStrong mechanical aptitudeAdherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of PPE)Complete all necessary documentation, electronic data entries, and communications accurately and timelyExperience running an automated production line (e.g polymeric sand baggingBuilding materials industry knowledgeMinimum of 1 year of experience operating a forklift in a production environment and warehouse settingWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with teammates & monitor and listen for system performance irregularitiesThe employee will be required to stand for extended periods of timeThe employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level.
