SUMMARY The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide responsible administrative and clerical support to Drug Court. An employee in a position allocated to this class is responsible for performing specialized administrative support activities involving complex work methods, procedures, problems, and specialized terminology. Assignments are technical in nature and require a familiarity with specialized terminology. Work requires the exercise of initiative, independent judgment and discretion in handling delegated administrative details. Work is performed under the general supervision of Drug Court Manager and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Compose and maintain court calendars, correspondence, memoranda, reports, e-mails and other documents Provide administrative assistance as directed Receives and screens callers Maintains office supply inventory Processes and reports daily drug testing results Collects payments from Drug Court participants Reads and route incoming mail and assemble files and other materials Initiate, process, and follow-up on forms and records such as purchasing and personnel to keep the operation of department/division running efficiently. Assemble data for the preparation of the department budget Establish working relationships with judges, court personnel, professionals associated with the legal community and the public The omission of specific statements does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES High School Diploma or GED AND two (2) years of administrative assistant experience or other support role requiring office skills and computer literacy or a related field.

Relevant experience and/or education may substitute for the recommended minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic knowledge of the legal system Must be highly organized; demonstrate close attention to detail and the ability to work in demanding situations Ability to interact with a diverse set of people including elected officials with a professional, positive and friendly demeanor Must be able to provide information correctly and concisely, orally and in writing Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, civility and ethical standards Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus ADDITIONAL INFORMATION During the Application Process please upload the following ATTACHMENTS if applicable:
