Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Space Force - Senior Advanced Systems Engineer - Tracking Systems Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, Senior Advanced Systems Engineer - Tracking Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, youll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system. To be considered, you have a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8 years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred. Location: Scottsdale, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Huntsville, AL Position: Senior Advanced Systems Engineer - Software Engineer background Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct Pay: $88.45 / hour Contract W2 Schedule: Onsite / Hybrid Clearance: Top Secret obtainable / preferred Overview We are seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineer with a strong background in systems engineering, model-based design, and aerospace simulation to support Department of Defense (DoD) space and ground system programs. The ideal candidate will have experience decomposing requirements, developing architectures, and integrating advanced aerospace systems with ground software and cloud-enabled environments. Responsibilities Apply systems engineering principles to decompose high-level space-ground designs into detailed ground software and systems architectures. Define and manage internal and external interfaces and design system behaviors across multi-domain environments. Leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies using tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw to model system architecture and design. Coordinate with software development teams, contributing to system analysis, prototype algorithms, and modeling efforts using Java, Python, and MATLAB. Integrate cloud computing technologies into system design and deployment for scalable, secure DoD solutions. Conduct simulation and modeling analyses with tools like STK to support aerospace mission planning, performance analysis, and trade studies. Prepare and deliver technical documentation, design reviews, and engineering artifacts in alignment with DoD acquisition standards. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred). Proficiency in systems engineering, requirements decomposition, and architecture design. Hands-on experience with MBSE methodologies and tools (Cameo, MagicDraw, or equivalent). Familiarity with programming languages Java, Python, and MATLAB. Knowledge of cloud technologies applied to system design and deployment. Experience in simulation and modeling using STK or related aerospace analysis tools.
