MIG Solid Wire Welder
Under general supervision, the MIG Welder will apply appropriate welds to fabricate or repair compactors, containers, and carts. This is a hands-on role requiring solid MIG welding experience. The position may lead to a full-time opportunity. Key Responsibilities
Perform minor repairs using MIG Solid Wire welding techniques.
Fabricate, maintain, and repair compactors, containers, and carts.
Conduct preventive maintenance and diagnostics on electrical and hydraulic systems.
Utilize welding techniques including: MIG (Solid Wire)
Arc welding
Gas welding
Aluminum welding
Brazing
Soft soldering
Complete documentation using fleet maintenance software (parts usage, labor time, etc.).
Follow Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
Operate standard shop tools and measuring devices.
Perform metalworking tasks (e.g., flame cutting, forming, beveling, notching).
Maintain safety checks and adhere to OSHA/Corporate safety standards.
Support senior welders on project work.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Required: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 04 years of welding or related mechanical experience
Preferred: Additional/specialized training in welding or fabrication
Licenses/Certifications: Valid drivers license required
Skills & Knowledge: Proficiency in MIG welding (solid wire)
Basic understanding of hydraulic/electrical systems
Ability to read blueprints/drawings
Familiarity with shop safety procedures
Experience using repair/maintenance software preferred
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Frequent use of motor coordination and hand tools
Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
Infrequent exposure to: Physical hazards (burns, cuts, chemicals)
Harsh environments (dirt, noise, weather extremes)
Primary work setting: Repair/Maintenance Shop
