Senior Network Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Network Engineer to strengthen and evolve our global network infrastructure. This role blends design, implementation, and troubleshooting across enterprise, and cloud-connected environments. You'll ensure our network is resilient, secure, and ready to scale with Astranis as we grow. Role:
Design, implement, and manage complex LAN, and WAN network solutions with an emphasis on reliability and security Configure and optimize routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and tunneling technologies (IPSEC, GRE) for resilient connectivity Deploy and maintain Next-Generation Firewalls, supporting segmentation and secure access across sites Oversee and troubleshoot wireless networks and advanced Layer 2 technologies (e.g. Spanning Tree, LACP, HSRP, MPLS) Support multi-site connectivity, including SD-WAN technologies, to enable seamless collaboration and remote access Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to keep the network operating at scale Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network infrastructure Assist with incident response for network issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution Document designs, processes, and troubleshooting playbooks to support knowledge sharing Mentor junior team members, helping raise the technical bar across the team Requirements:
5+ years of experience in network engineering Strong knowledge of IP routing and switching, including BGP and OSPF Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Firewalls, ACLs, IPSEC/GRE tunneling, and advanced Layer 2 protocols Experience managing and troubleshooting large-scale or multi-site network deployments Experience with network monitoring and management tools (i.e: iCinga, Netbox, and Wireshark) Knowledge of network access protocols (802.1x, Radius, TACACS, Dynamic ACLs, port security) Familiarity with wireless networking design and support Solid understanding of network security fundamentals and best practices Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams Bonus:
Relevant certifications such as Network+, JNCIE, CCNP, or CCIE Experience with SD-WAN solutions (e.g. Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba, or Juniper) Exposure to cloud networking, particularly in GCP (VPC, interconnects, hybrid connectivity) Familiarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Python, Ansible, Terraform) Hands-on experience with Fortigate firewalls, Aruba wireless, or Juniper platforms What We Offer:

Base pay is a single component of Astranis's total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, high quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on-site catered meals. Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position. Base Salary $135,000 - $175,000 USD U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required (To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
