The ideal candidate will drive modernization efforts and establish best practices across infrastructure, architecture, security, and deployment. Key Responsibilities Platform Architecture & Application Strategy Lead the design and evolution of customer-facing healthcare applications focusing on scalability, security, and maintainability. Define architectural standards, reusable components, and modular service structures. Introduce design patterns and frameworks that promote high-quality, efficient development. Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system performance and user experience.

Cloud & Deployment Strategy

Define and implement cloud architecture using AWS, Azure, or GCP for scalability, cost-efficiency, and reliability. Lead CI/CD pipeline development, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, CloudFormation). Guide setup of development, staging, and production environments with robust deployment and rollback processes. Ensure infrastructure compliance with healthcare regulations and audit requirements.

Messaging, Integration & System Communication

Architect asynchronous, event-driven systems using message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.). Define secure, scalable integration patterns for EMRs, third-party APIs, and internal microservices. Design RESTful and event-based APIs for system communication. Ensure resiliency, graceful degradation, and error handling across distributed systems.

Data Strategy & Management

Security, NFRs & Compliance

Implement strategies meeting healthcare standards like HIPAA and SOC2. Define and enforce non-functional requirements: performance, observability, availability, reliability. Work with InfoSec to enforce security standards including encryption, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, RBAC. Develop observability standards using logging, tracing, and metrics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with product, engineering, DevOps, QA, and InfoSec teams. Provide mentorship, conduct reviews, and guide best practices. Lead technical planning during sprints and releases. Align system evolution with organizational vision.

Expertise in cloud platforms, containers, and infrastructure-as-code. Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, messaging systems. Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases. Understanding of NFRs: high availability, observability, disaster recovery. Experience with HIPAA, SOC2 compliance frameworks. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with HL7/FHIR, EMR interoperability. Designing patient/provider portals. Knowledge of genomic or lab systems. Familiarity with API gateways, service mesh, platform engineering. Healthcare workflows knowledge.

Additional Technical Strengths

Understanding full-stack architecture. Experience with frontend frameworks and UI security. Designing resilient, distributed microservices. Knowledge of real-time data pipelines, caching, eventual consistency. DevOps practices, container orchestration, deployment automation. Driving developer efficiency and architectural standards.
