Overview
Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) is seeking Principal or Senior Principal Configuration Control Systems Engineer . IPT/Segment Level role, works with Configuration Management team at Program/System level to implement Program's Configuration Management strategy within the IPT.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Lead and oversee configuration identification, control, auditing, status accounting, and verification processes.
- Ensure that configuration control is applied to complex engineering changes within the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with various departments including engineering, production, and quality assurance to plan and manage product baselines and documentation.
- Conduct configuration audits to verify conformance to requirements and facilitate the resolution of discrepancies.
- Provide expert guidance and support on configuration management best practices to project teams.
- Maintain configuration management databases and tools, ensuring the integrity and security of configuration data.
- Lead training and mentoring initiatives of other configuration analysts.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to management and programs.
- Engage daily with programs on matters of configuration and change management, conduct and lead Configuration Control Boards.
Basic Qualifications — Principal Configuration Control Systems Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; OR 1 year with PhD
- Understanding and experience with configuration management standards and practices (e.g., ISO, ANSI, CMII).
- Proficient in using configuration management software tools and systems.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Current active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
Basic Qualifications — Senior Principal Configuration Control Systems Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master’s Degree; OR 4 years with PhD
- Understanding and experience with configuration management standards and practices (e.g., ISO, ANSI, CMII).
- Proficient in using configuration management software tools and systems.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Current active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Experience in Teamcenter, CPLM PLM tool, Enovia, Windchill, and/or Costpoint or similar tools
- Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII-P, CMC).
- Domain knowledge of Configuration Mgmt. standards such as MIL-HDBK-61A and/or EIA-649B/EIA-649-1
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 requirements, standards, and compliance issues
Compensation and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00; Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00. The salary range represents a general guideline; actual offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Eligible for long-term incentives in certain roles.
