We are seeking an associate-level Commercial Litigation Attorney with dual licensure in Illinois and California to join our prestigious legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of commercial litigation cases with a focus on professional liability, nursing home, condominium, commercial disputes, living facilities, and elder abuse. Minimum 2-5 years of experience preferred. A J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse range of commercial litigation matters including professional liability, nursing home, condominium, commercial disputes, living facilities, and elder abuse.
- Manage all phases of litigation from investigation, pleadings, and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct research, collect evidence, and formulate legal strategies to ensure successful resolution of cases.
- Represent the firm and its clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on their rights and obligations.
- Develop relationships with clients and work diligently to understand their needs and goals.
- Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure effective case management.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect cases and clients.
- Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- Dual license to practice law in two states (IL and CA).
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation with focus areas including professional liability, nursing home, condominium, living facilities, and elder abuse. Prior litigation experience preferred.
- Exceptional research, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex disputes.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven track record of success in litigation.
- Ability to manage multiple cases with varying deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to providing superior client service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr. Benefits include medical benefits, 401(k), and other standard programs. Hybrid schedule and formal mentorship/training programs are available.
