Axon is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Financial Reporting and Strategic Investments to lead our SEC reporting, accounting policy and consulting, ESG reporting, strategic investments due diligence and accounting, and stock compensation administration. This role is crucial in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong controls over SEC filings, technical accounting policies, and overall reporting processes.

We seek a thought leader with experience from both Big 4 accounting firms and industry roles within large, complex, high-growth companies. The ideal candidate has a proven record of leading transformations in fast-paced environments, with a focus on innovation and process improvement to meet evolving business and stakeholder needs.

This role requires balancing detailed technical work with strategic oversight to guide the organization towards its long-term goals. A positive, energetic attitude and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment are essential.

Location : US-based Axon hub sites (Atlanta, Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Seattle, or Washington DC metro areas), 2 days per week in-office.

What You'll Do

  • SEC Reporting :

Lead preparation and review of SEC filings such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxies.

Ensure timely, accurate disclosures compliant with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and SOX.

Coordinate with auditors to manage audits and reviews, maintaining high reporting standards.

Monitor FASB projects and SEC trends to keep the company ahead of regulatory changes.

Partner with Investor Relations and Legal for transparent, compliant communication with investors.

  • Technical Accounting Policy :

Oversee complex technical accounting issues, ensuring policy compliance.

Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and training.

Lead implementation of new standards and assess their impact.

  • ESG Reporting :

Lead ESG reporting strategy, ensuring compliance and industry best practices.

Gather and analyze ESG data, ensuring transparency.

Stay informed on ESG reporting trends.

  • Leadership and Transformation :

Drive initiatives to streamline reporting, leveraging technology.

Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering innovation and accountability.

Align reporting strategies with business goals and improve processes across functions.

Provide insights to senior stakeholders based on data analysis.

  • Stock Compensation Administration :

Oversee stock compensation plans, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.

Collaborate with HR to align programs with company goals.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related; CPA required, MBA preferred.
  • 17+ years of experience, including Big 4 and industry roles in large, fast-growth environments.
  • Experience in capital markets, M&A, and global consolidations preferred.
  • Deep expertise in SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, SOX, and technical accounting, including ESG frameworks.
  • Proven leadership in transformation initiatives and process improvements.
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with proactive problem-solving abilities.

The Pay : Axon offers total compensation including base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base salary ranges from USD 216,000 to USD 324,000 depending on location and experience. Actual pay depends on various factors. For more details, visit
