Director, US Private Equity – Editorial Team leads a team of analysts within our Institutional Research Group. You will sharpen analytical skills, gain insight into a fascinating industry, and contribute to best-in-class private capital research used by major investors, investment banks, and service providers globally.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of analysts conducting research and analysis covering private equity and M&A, institutional allocators, global economic conditions, and related areas.
  • Establish research frameworks for independent commentary, evaluations, and forecasts; identify themes affecting private markets.
  • Develop and manage a research pipeline including quarterly market updates, thematic pieces, and ad-hoc notes.
  • Write and edit research reports aligned with team pipeline and publishing calendar.
  • Utilize PitchBook data, public sources, and research notes to inform actionable analysis.
  • Lead cross-department collaboration on software-based IP, PR and speaking engagements, Sales Enablement, and more.
  • Oversee direct-to-client distribution channels for published notes.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysis to identify datasets supporting research.
  • Develop relationships with clients and industry professionals to support primary research.
  • Manage inquiries from clients, press, colleagues, and the public regarding published research.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual team performance reviews.
  • Model PitchBook values and participate in company initiatives and projects.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics preferred.
  • 10–12 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or related financial services; 5–7 years managing analyst teams required.
  • Strong understanding of valuation techniques (DCF, comps, etc.), LBO, IRR, portfolio management, and related concepts.
  • Strong interest in M&A and private financial markets.
  • Experience writing long-form research is a plus; management experience is a plus.
  • Critical thinker with an analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in SQL and PitchBook Platform is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems quickly.

Working Conditions

We value in-person collaboration. This role is expected to be in the office 5 days a week.

The job conditions are in a standard office setting with PC and phone usage throughout the day. Limited travel may be required to remote offices or for meetings and events.
