About the Role
We are seeking seasoned Fractional CFO's with deep expertise in a variety of industries including but not limited to Start-ups, healthcare, CPG, med device and technology in order to provide strategic financial leadership to growing brands. As a trusted advisor to the executive team, you will be responsible for driving financial performance, supporting capital strategies, and optimizing operational processes. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for a financial leader comfortable working across multiple companies or projects.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making, pricing strategies, and market expansion.
- Provide executive-level insights on business model optimization and performance.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitor, forecast, and optimize cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational stability.
- Model scenarios to anticipate cash needs and investment opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Oversight
- Review and validate financial statements
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards and performance tracking systems.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and actionable financial reporting.
Capital Raising & Investor Relations
- Build robust financial models and projections for investor presentations.
- Advise on capital structure (debt, equity, or hybrid financing).
- Assist in developing investor materials and guide the capital-raising process from end to end.
- Support board reporting and investor communications.
Operational Efficiency & Financial Process Optimization
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve internal financial processes.
- Implement scalable systems for accounting, expense tracking, and reporting.
- Guide internal controls and financial best practices.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Evaluate financial and operational risks; develop mitigation strategies.
- Support tax planning and help uncover missed opportunities for deductions or credits.
Ad Hoc Financial Projects
- Lead one-off projects such as historical financial cleanups, audit prep, or reporting enhancements as needed by leadership.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader, with a proven track record.
- Strong understanding of the financial challenges faced by emerging and mid-sized brands.
- Expertise in capital raising, financial modeling, and investor relations.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to execute hands-on financial operations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting companies through high-growth stages, fundraising, or exit strategies.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with DTC, wholesale, and omnichannel business models in CPG.
