Position Summary
As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will be responsible for developing creative, reliable, sustainable, functional, and economical landscape designs for our diverse group of clients. As part of our integrated design teams, the Landscape Architect creates site designs that are integrally developed with the architecture and site engineering with the goal of elevating the human experience through design.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Manage operations, execution, and expectations for the Landscape Architecture Discipline in California.
- Develop, communicate, and update operations plans to include objectives, schedules, funding, and staffing.
- Direct or coordinate activities of personnel, vendors, and consultants.
- Assign duties, responsibilities, and projects to personnel.
- Schedule, facilitate, and document meetings with staff and clients related to overall operations.
- Participate in the development and negotiation of contracts as well as service change requests; initiate review or approve modifications to plans.
- Partner with sector and practice leadership to perform personnel functions such as selection, training, and evaluation of personnel.
- Support business development initiatives by assisting the RFP process and interview process.
- Engage in community and/or industry organizations that build the DLR Group brand.
- Maintain industry-leading workplace design practices to drive the operating unit and culture toward a great place to work.
- Balance staffing and workload to achieve profit and revenue growth goals.
- Develop site and landscape-related specifications.
- Conduct site visits when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.
- 10-20 years of professional experience.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and managing staff.
- Experience in proposal preparation.
- Experience with specification writing, construction administration, multi-discipline coordination, scheduling, and management of multiple projects.
- Experience and interest in preparing sustainable and low-impact landscape planting and irrigation designs.
- Experience in preparing site grading, site development, and site detailing.
- Experience in Construction Document preparation for site development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Site Master Planning experience preferred.

The suggested pay range for this position is $93,000 - $144,000 USD.
