Overview
Strand Therapeutics is a clinical stage biotechnology company utilizing synthetic biology to genetically program mRNA to deliver immunotherapies to patients. Strand focuses on smart therapies based on Boolean logic circuits and develops programmable mRNA platforms with clinical and preclinical programs. Our lead program, STX-001, is in Phase 1 for solid tumors. Our corporate headquarters is in the Fenway district of Boston, MA.

Responsibilities
- Handle primary cells, particularly immune cells, including isolation and culture.
- Design and perform in vitro assays with immune cells to assess cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine secretion, etc.
- Plasmid cloning, RNA handling, IVT, transfection and transduction of primary cells.
- Design and execute multi-color flow cytometry panels.
- Conduct cell-based and molecular biology assays with standard readout techniques.
- Contribute to assay development and optimization as needed.
- Collaborate across teams to support cross-functional projects.
Qualifications
- B.S. with 2–3+ years of relevant experience or M.S. with 1–2+ years in cell biology and/or immunology.
- Experience handling, isolating, and culturing primary immune cells.
- Experience operating flow cytometers; FACS data analysis is preferred.
- Experience with mammalian cell manipulation using mRNA transfection and/or electroporation is highly desired.
- Experience performing cell-based assays including in vitro/ex vivo cytotoxicity, proliferation, and ELISA is preferred.
- Experience in molecular biology methods (cloning, qPCR, ddPCR, Western blot) is a plus.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical industry setting is strongly preferred.
