JOB TITLE : Plant Operations Night Shift Manager DATE : 9/2025
REPORTS TO : Plant Manager STATUS : Exempt

JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for directing and coordinating second shift plant operations, to ensure quality products are provided to the customer. Coordinates and manages all departments within production to ensure deadlines and goals for production are met and are on time.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
  1. Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, mentoring, and evaluating performances of second shift plant operations department management, to maximize efficiency.
  2. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals.
  3. Utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals.
  4. Manage and monitor budget for plant operations programs and ensures efficiency and effectiveness in meeting performance factors.
  5. Manages and approves all capital expenditures, ensuring all projects are approved and within budget.
  6. Directs accurate and timely reporting of plant operations to senior leadership.
  7. Provide detailed and constructive feedback to managers during their shift about their progress with their assigned work.
  8. Through their management team, directs shift activities and personnel scheduling.
  9. Directs and manages process improvements and evaluates and analyzes results.
  10. Effectively communicate with HR, departments heads, and other supporting department leaders if conflict or dilemmas arise with employees in your charge.
  11. Manage direct report timecards and time off requests.
  12. All other duties not listed but requested by Senior Leadership.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
  1. MUST possess a minimum of five years' work experience in a related field, including previous management experience managing and directing supervisors and/or other managers.
  2. MUST be familiar with manufacturing yields, plant efficiencies, and operational procedures.
  3. MUST have thorough knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOP's and GMP's.
  4. MUST possess skills in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing to all team members.
  5. Ability to motivate team members to drive and achieve production goals as well as be responsible for performance management of your team including goal setting and providing performance reviews yearly.
  6. MUST have exceptional time management and prioritizing skills.
  7. MUST know how to effectively utilize a personal computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  8. MUST be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  9. MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each role.
  10. Ability to stand or walk for an entire 8-hour shift.
  11. Ability to reflect the values of our company in public settings.
  12. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  1. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Karen are preferred.
  2. Experience in poultry or other food processing plants is highly preferred.
  3. Higher education in leadership, manufacturing, logistics, or a related field is preferred, however experience in lieu of degree will always be considered.
  4. Knowledge in developing and administering process improvement principles.
