Warehouse Associate

VAS Aero Services is looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our team based in Boca Raton, FL.

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a third party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.

Job Summary: This position is responsible for receiving shipments, inventory control, packing and shipping parts with functional work integrity and standards, ensuring product quality within the VAS Aero Services Warehouse Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Inbound order unloading, Quality receiving with Inventory Control and Outbound Order Processing: 70%

Unload/Load supplies and material from vehicles as required

Perform Inventory stock check functions

Perform Inventory Control functions in the warehouse management system and customer/supplier systems as required

Inspect shipments, inbound and outbound, physical parts inspection, paperwork inspection, and processing in IT, issuing quality related paperwork

Perform Stock control functions to include product stocking, cycle counts and order retrials

Ability to pack per ATA 300 goods for storage and shipment

Ability to package goods for Hazardous shipment per DOT CFR49 / ICARO

Comply with all export compliance regulations for filing AES For the purposes of international shipments

Issue labels for small parcel, UPS, DHL, FedEx and prepare freight and oversize cargo for forwarder pickup

Processing of all scrap material

Perform supply stock audits as required

Perform exception handling, and support process improvements: 25%

Ensure all customer requirements are followed

Follows the methods, processes and procedures enabling efficient and accurate storage and retrial of material in accordance with established "6S", ISO / ASA 100 and AS9120 procedures

Prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity

Report all non-conformities or process irregularities

Assists with KPIs and "6S" initiatives with a focus on continual improvement

Interact with various departments in a professional manner

Suggest enhancements or changes to procedures and processes to gain efficiencies in all areas of responsibility

Work in shifts or extended hours for order peaks or AOGs (=Aircraft on Ground) critical orders

Additional responsibilities: 5%

Support other functions and duties as needed and directed by the team leader

Qualified Experience and Training:

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent

Experience:

Required 1-2 years' experience in a warehouse/distribution environment

Preferred SAP experience

Preferred Experience in aircraft parts warehouse/distribution

Familiarity with using computer systems, preferably SAP, MS Office and/or various warehouse management systems

Able to use scanners as part of your daily work

Able to use email as the main communication tool within and outside the organization

Complexity of the Role:

Handling aviation parts according to training in a warehouse environment with the proper opening of containers, wrapping, parts pick up, packing, preparation for safe storage and transport

Ensure that any paperwork inside with the part(s) and outside of the container is handled with care

Handling of inspection lists, orders and ensure tracking progress until complete

Physical handling of wide spectrum of parts, size, condition, quantities, parts containing dangerous goods, electrostatic sensitive parts

Nature of Contacts:

Build relationships with related departments at VAS Aero Services for communicating of order progress

Address issues verbally and in writing with related departments of any irregularities and problems for resolving.

Physical Requirements:

Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. DAILY

Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. DAILY

Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. DAILY

Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. DAILY

Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. DAILY

Lifting: Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds. DAILY

Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. DAILY

Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. DAILY

Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. DAILY

Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. DAILY

Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. DAILY
