Posted as MS Tele due to EKG requirement for all RNs and tele-capable unit. However, the patient population will be primarily medical-surgical. Shifts are 3x12 hours on nights from 7 PM to 7 AM. Rotating weekends and holidays required. Floating between facilities is required. Minimum of 2 years of experience is necessary. First-time travelers are welcome. The following skills and responsibilities are essential: - Interpretation of dysrhythmias and tele monitoring. - Use of rapid response teams. - Feeding tube care and management. - Renal failure management. - Blood product administration and peripheral line care and management. - Starting IVs and managing PICC lines. - PCA management and CVA care. - Surgical drain management. - Chest tube care. - Non-invasive airway management. - Isolation precautions and wound care. Patient ratios are 1:5. Patients admitted to the inpatient medical department should meet at least one of the following criteria: - Adult patients with an established diagnosis of a medical condition. - Patients requiring hospitalization due to complications of a disease process that requires acute medical care or treatment. Daily census is 21. The unit also provides interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Compliance requires a full compliance file by 12 noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date. RTO is due at the time of submission. Education verification through a third party is required. The facility will not accept any open cases on the background check. Local candidates within a specific radius will not be accepted. All travelers are subject to float as needed. All RNs, regardless of specialty, are required to pass an EKG exam during compliance.
