Pay Information $2,467 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3 years preferred, but will consider 1-2 years License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Previous charge experience required; must circulate for c-sections Description: This is a high-risk labor and delivery unit. The unit has an average delivery volume of 2100 deliveries per year. It accepts transfer patients with outpatient consultations. The OB manages the patients. All providers are private entities with delivery privileges. The unit has a Level 3 NICU. It does not operate on a labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum model. Nurses must circulate for cesarean sections. The unit requires floating to maternity and mother-baby units. Every other weekend is required. Nurses will assist with triage of obstetrical patients. Support from interdisciplinary teams is available. Special procedures performed include cesarean sections and postpartum tubal ligations. Special equipment includes fetal monitors and rapid transfusion systems. Nurses will be involved in caring for neonates, adolescents, and adults. Patient diagnoses include preterm labor, incompetent cervix, and multiple births. The unit has a daily census of approximately 8 patients and can accommodate 10 beds. Nurses are expected to work with the team in a collaborative environment. Floating requirements may vary by unit. References are required prior to an offer. Background checks will be conducted for any license or criminal history issues.
