Organization Overview:
This role resides within the Global Manufacturing HSE team at Lilly Corporate Center. The role provides support to help manufacturing sites effectively manage their Air Environmental programs and meet critical compliance obligations in operations around the globe. Responsibilities:
This role provides technical expertise and support to manufacturing sites related to Air environmental compliance and performance. The position will work closely with sites to develop, execute, maintain, and improve environmental control strategies, develop Air permitting strategies and negotiate delivery of appropriate permits, and help identify and reduce our most significant environmental risks. Primary responsibilities include:

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$63,000 - $162,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Lilly reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion and Lilly's compensation practices and guidelines will apply regarding the details of any promotion or transfer of Lilly employees.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic leadership for the Air environmental program across global manufacturing sites.
- Support the development of permitting strategies and assist in the securing of Air permits including Title V, Major NSR, and Minor Source Permits for facilities across the US.
- Promote best practices to reduce Air compliance risks through training programs, risk assessments, and the development of comprehensive standards and procedures.
- Provide Air environmental regulatory interpretations and partner with Legal counsel to evaluate, communicate, and eliminate environmental risks associated with global business operations.
- Support sites in implementing the company Environmental Standard and global HSE expectations, ensuring compliance and operational flexibility.
- Conduct Air program assessments to identify and address program gaps and provide site support for environmental programs and capital projects as needed.
- Provide mentoring to environmental and engineering functions to further develop capability within each on environmental programs and tools, operational control strategies, and risk reduction methodologies.
- Maintain and develop tools and processes required for the effective management of the Air program (collaboration site, air emissions database, assessment tools and documents, program metrics, etc.).
- BS in Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in an environmental Air permitting and compliance role
- Significant experience with Title V, PSD, Nonattainment NSR, NESHAP, and NSPS Air regulations
- Proven ability to work effectively in a corporate role across a complex manufacturing organization to implement and communicate solutions at all levels of the organization
- Experience with international environmental regulations
- Demonstrated project management / planning capability
- Demonstrated mentoring skills
- Environmental auditing experience and excellent technical writing skills
- Ability to work cross functionally and lead cross functional teams
- Ability to present and translate complex or technical subjects into easy-to-understand commentary for a broad audience
