As the product leader for the Autonomous Deployments outcome, you will spearhead the vision and strategy to eliminate human intervention from software deployments. Your team will build intelligent platforms and tools that automate manual testing, separate deployment from release with feature flags, automate approvals, and provide deep insights into production readiness. The goal is to enable "no fear" autonomous releases—accelerating time-to-market, improving application stability, and freeing up developer time. The ideal candidate is a passionate, technology-driven leader who deeply empathizes with the challenges developers face in delivering high-quality software at scale. As the Sr. Director, Product Management - Autonomous Deployments, you will:
Develop and champion a bold, long-term product strategy for Autonomous Deployments, connecting your vision to measurable improvements in release velocity, application stability, and developer productivity across the enterprise Build, lead, and mentor a world-class team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and execution excellence focused on solving complex developer challenges Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for intelligent, automated validation capabilities that build developer confidence and reduce reliance on manual testing Partner closely with senior leaders in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and lines of business to ensure the solutions meet complex quality, security, and operational needs Define, monitor, and evangelize key performance indicators that measure the impact of autonomous deployments (e.g., release velocity, change failure rates, developer satisfaction) Work across the company to reimagine and design solutions that may defy organizational boundaries, ensuring rapid test-and-learn adoption Be accountable for identifying and managing platform investment and key risk decisions to deliver a well-managed platform for higher quality and more resilient applications Capital One Product Framework In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas which underpin successful Product management: Human Centered - Obsesses about internal and external customer needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions Business Focused - Delivers game-changing outcomes by focusing on leverage and execution excellence Technology Driven - Leverages technology to deliver innovative and resilient solutions that enable both near term and long term value Integrated Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves complex problems to deliver outcomes while mitigating product risks Transformational Leadership - Leads cross functional teams to solve customer problems and drive organizational alignment Basic Qualifications
At least 9 years of experience working in Product Management Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Bachelor\'s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) A Master\'s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams of product managers Experience with developer platforms, DevOps tools, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, or large-scale enterprise platforms, particularly for internal developer customers Deep expertise in the modern software development lifecycle (SDLC), including release engineering, progressive delivery, quality assurance, and automated testing principles Proven experience translating complex business strategy and technical challenges into a clear, data-driven product roadmap Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and risk management Excellent communication skills with a track record of engaging and influencing senior executives Note: Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. Chicago, IL: $240,300 - $274,300; McLean, VA: $264,300 - $301,700; New York, NY: $288,400 - $329,100; Plano, TX: $240,300 - $274,300; Richmond, VA: $240,300 - $274,300. Other locations follow respective pay ranges. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentives (cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives).
