Overview
Were looking for a Principal Software Development Engineer to join our ZIA Cloud team. You will make ZIA software run in Public Cloud Infrastructure. You will bring strong public cloud infrastructure knowledge, technical expertise in network security, hands-on development experience, and proven leadership capabilities. Reporting to the Senior Director, ZIA Core Engineering, you will: Practice technical leadership in design, development, and optimization of firewall/SWG platforms in Cloud Infrastructure Define and execute the technical roadmap for firewalls/SWG in Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals Work closely with engineering teams to enhance platform support for virtualized environments Drive professional development and growth initiatives for team members Responsibilities
Lead architecture and implementation efforts for firewall and secure web gateway platforms in cloud environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud security solutions with product goals Mentor and coach engineers to promote high-quality software delivery Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing networking security software and public clouds infrastructure Deep understanding of VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing (ELB - ALB/NLB), Route 53, Network Firewall, WAF or their equivalents in Public Cloud Infrastructure Proven experience in designing how FW/SWG solutions integrate with or extend these native services Performance & scalability: demonstrated ability to design, optimize, and troubleshoot high-throughput, low-latency network security products Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in BSD/Linux operating systems and their application in platform development; experience with virtualization technologies and with DPDK or similar kernel bypass techniques Network security fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN), NAT, and load balancing Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform (preferred), AWS CloudFormation, and GCP Deployment Manager for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure Salary
Base Pay Range $182,000 - $260,000 USD Benefits
