Overview
Senior Software Engineer, Billing & Payments. GFiber is an Alphabet company that brings Google Fiber and Google Fiber Webpass internet services to homes and businesses across the United States. The role is part of the Billing and Payments engineering team, responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining GFibers billing and payment systems. Responsibilities Design and implement scalable, robust, and industry-best-practice-compliant solutions in billing and payments. Integrate with backend applications while assessing functional and non-functional trade-offs. Understand, troubleshoot and perform software enhancements across billing and payment systems. Lead a team of distributed backend engineers, fostering collaboration and providing technical guidance and idea sharing. Leverage Zuora, Adyen and Kotlin microservices to build, design, secure and manage billing and payments APIs and features. Use Kotlin and related technologies, including Spring Boot and related frameworks. Collaborate with internal development and cross-functional teams (technical program managers, engineering managers, engineers). Enforce code review processes that adhere to established coding standards. Support monthly billing processes and participate in an on-call rotation to respond to billing emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 7 years of experience in developing payment or billing systems using platforms such as Adyen and/or Zuora, with demonstrated successful deliveries. 5 years of experience in software design and development using Java and/or Kotlin to build services related to billing/payment processing.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. Proficiency in Java and Kotlin and using development tools such as GitHub and Harness.io. Experience developing for Google Cloud Platform. Experience integrating with Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Vlocity, Marketing Cloud).
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this full-time position is $156,800 to $229,700 per year, with bonus, cash awards and benefits. Salary may vary by location and will be discussed during the hiring process. Equal Opportunity
