Director, Product Management, Developer Experience - API Platforms
Capital One is seeking a Director of Product Management for the Developer Experience - API Platforms. This role leads our API ecosystem and associated developer platforms, enabling internal and external developers to build at scale. APIs are a core building block for software across the enterprise, including customer applications, real-time decisioning, and AI capabilities. Responsibilities Engage stakeholders across Business, Engineering, Architecture, Risk, and Cyber to articulate the voice of the customer, identify new capabilities, define product features, and collaborate with development teams to launch those features. Set strategic vision and drive your team’s roadmaps; regularly update Leadership and stakeholders. Partner with engineering leadership across multiple teams to ensure strong collaboration and alignment. Own the product management practice within the organization, defining expectations and commitments and driving continuous improvement. Operationalize product metrics, build business cases for new investment, and measure product success against outcomes. Influence senior stakeholders to adopt products and build buy-in by communicating the business impact. Capital One Product Framework Human Centered – Obsess over internal and external customer needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions Business Focused – Deliver game-changing outcomes through leverage and execution excellence Technology Driven – Leverage technology to enable near-term and long-term value Integrated Problem Solving – Identify and resolve complex problems while mitigating product risks Transformational Leadership – Lead cross-functional teams to solve customer problems and drive organizational alignment Basic Qualifications At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following with an expected degree by the start date: Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or related quantitative field) Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or related quantitative field) or an MBA with quantitative concentration Preferred Qualifications People leadership experience of product management teams Experience with API platforms or API management in an enterprise environment AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or familiarity with AWS or other Cloud platforms Note: At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
