Role: Enterprise Governance Architect Business and Data Architecture. The Enterprise Architect requires competency in one key technological area of the bank and works with other architects to develop and review designs for information systems aligned with the banks goals, needs, objectives, and technology roadmap. Lead the development, integration, and governance of business and data architectures that enable enterprise-wide alignment of capabilities, processes, data assets, and technology platforms. Responsibilities
Advisory and Collaboration: Act as an advisor to technology groups and the bank, collaborating with all levels of the bank, up to executive management, to map capabilities, value streams, and processes to technology solutions. Enterprise Architecture (EA) Patterns and Frameworks: Create EA patterns and antipatterns; develop and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, models, governance frameworks, and reference architectures for master data management, data warehousing, and analytics platforms; ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks. Strategy and Roadmap Ownership: Own the development and alignment of technology strategy and roadmaps within a defined domain; design roadmaps for data integration, data quality, and data governance to support analytics, AI, and operations. Research and Development: Stay current with industry trends; produce enterprise technology radar classifications (Hold, Assess, Trial, Adopt) and evaluate trends to recommend improvements in business architecture, information management, and data platforms. Requirements Definition: Translate user and process requirements into enterprise architecture designs aligned with principles; ensure high-quality deliverables. Product and Solution Delivery & Integration: Collaborate with application, solution, and technology architects to ensure alignment with business and data architecture; assess interactions between systems and services and evaluate impact of changes. Industry and Brand Stewardship: Participate in industry events, publish white papers, host webinars to advance the companys technology brand. Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship in best practices and patterns across teams. Corporate Functions: Ensure compliance with bank regulations, policies, training, and procedures; maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements (BSA, Reg CC, Reg E, security, etc.); coach or train others as subject matter expert; promote Columbia culture; take initiative; support the vision of becoming the Business Bank of Choice; perform other duties as assigned. Bachelors degree in computer science/engineering or related field or equivalent work experience; required. Masters degree preferred. Architect certification in Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred. 10+ years of experience in analysis, design, development, or deployment; required. 4+ years of experience as an EA, AI, or Cloud architect; required. Competent in reviewing designs for alignment with strategic direction; strong organizational skills to track architectural issues. Hands-on experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.) and knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks (TOGAF, BIAN) and Well-Architected Cloud Frameworks. Proficient in contingency and disaster recovery procedures. Collaborative, capable of building partnerships with technical and non-technical leaders; able to lead and grow the next generation of architects; anticipates risks and plans mitigations; strong verbal and written communication of business value. Must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Location, Travel, and Benefits
Job Location(s): Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s) OR, CA, WA, ID, NV, UT, CO. Travel: Discretionary as needed to fulfill Essential Functions. Our Benefits: Competitive total rewards including base wages and comprehensive benefits. Pay range: $116,647.72 - $175,000.00; final pay depends on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Eligible for performance-based incentives where applicable.
