You will be joining CIBCs Bank USA Application Development team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be building software solutions using languages and technologies of the .NET framework. You will create applications from scratch, configure existing systems and provide user support. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the detailed technical design and development of applications using various technology platforms. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to conduct impact analysis and provide feedback on problems with recommended solutions. The Senior Software Engineer determines methods and approaches to projects, transforming business requirements specifications into programming instructions, designing, coding and testing programs. The role uses judgement and autonomy on day to day tasks, exercising considerable latitude to conduct data source analysis and negotiate with users regarding requirements. This is a hybrid role with an expectation to be in office at least 2 days per week in Chicago Downtown, rest of the days may be remote. What You Will Be Doing Write functional code with a sharp eye for spotting defects. Collaborate and communicate effectively. If you are enthusiastic about the .NET framework and software design/architecture, we would like to meet you. Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and maintain software. Collaborate with developers, architects, and infrastructure specialists to gather requirements and conduct research to evaluate the application of new and emerging tools and techniques, identify patterns and best practices to consider in technology proposals while anticipating long term business issues. Devise new methods and procedures using strong analytic thinking, developing project plans based on appropriate standards and methodology. Participate in requirements analysis. Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture. Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages. How You Will Succeed 7 years or more as a proven .NET Developer or Application Developer; familiarity with the ASP.NET framework. SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g., Model-View-Controller). Knowledge of at least one .NET language (e.g., C#, Visual Basic.NET) and HTML5/CSS. Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC). Understanding of Agile methodologies. Experience with MS Azure, Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira and GitHub. familiarity with cloud-focused architecture patterns and Agile/Scrum practices; excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. Nice to have: Object Oriented Design, SOLID, JSON and RESTful web services; experience with Unit Tests and UI Automation Tests. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills; attention to detail. Test and deploy applications and systems; revise, update, refactor and debug code. Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support. Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. AZ-900 certification preferred. Angular framework experience.
