We are seeking an experienced and motivated

Senior Data Engineer

with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex data challenges, designing robust integration workflows, and securing high-volume data migrations. The candidate should have experience with Talend, Qlik Replicate, and cloud technologies like Azure or AWS. Primary role: The Senior Data Engineer will lead efforts to architect, develop, and maintain large-scale data migration and integration pipelines. You will build secure, efficient, and automated ETL/ELT processes supporting the movement of both structured and unstructured data across on-premise and cloud environments, enabling digital transformation initiatives. Travel: Up to 10% Location note: Candidates are required to reside within the National Capital Region. Responsibilities Collaborate with data architects, project managers, and business stakeholders to design and execute comprehensive data migration strategies for structured (e.g., relational databases) and unstructured data (e.g., documents, media). Use Qlik Replicate to implement real-time data replication and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes from various source systems to modern cloud platforms. Design, implement, and optimize Talend ETL/ELT pipelines for transforming and integrating large datasets across multiple systems. Ensure seamless integration of data from diverse sources into platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Microsoft Dataverse. Automate recurring data tasks including validation, transformation, and reconciliation to maintain accuracy and streamline workflows. Conduct data profiling, cleansing, mapping, and transformation to ensure data quality and consistency throughout migration and integration. Perform thorough testingincluding unit, integration, and performance testingto validate the completeness and accuracy of all migrated data. Troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and optimize performance during and after data migration. Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for data workflows, scripts, configurations, and process standards. Provide timely status updates to stakeholders, resolve data-related challenges, and ensure alignment with business requirements. Stay informed of emerging tools and best practices in data engineering, migration, and cloud technologies to continuously enhance system performance.

Qualifications

Must be a United States Citizen. Must possess and maintain DoD Secret Level Security Clearance. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on enterprise-scale data migration and integration projects. Proven hands-on experience with Talend for ETL/ELT development and Qlik Replicate for real-time replication and CDC. Strong background with both structured data and unstructured data. Experience deploying solutions on cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS for data storage, migration, and processing. Solid understanding of data modeling, architecture, governance, and best practices for large-scale data solutions. Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases and working knowledge of diverse integration tools and frameworks. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on optimizing system performance and data integrity. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration across technical and non-technical teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with modern data lake and warehouse architectures (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse). Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools for managing cloud-based data services. Background in regulated environments with a focus on data security, compliance, and auditing.
