The Senior Supplier Development Engineer, Precision Mechanical (internally known as Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer) is a high-profile, cross-functional role that enables development and production flow of Anduril’s critical supply base. You will work with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams as well as direct suppliers to implement effective, creative, and smart supply chain strategies to achieve production goals. This role focuses on expediting qualification and implementation of product designs with suppliers, optimizing for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness from early development through the product lifecycle. What you’ll do

Own and manage the mechanical casting commodities/subcategories to execute supplier production (NPI to full production) strategies across Anduril’s business lines

Be a force multiplier for the Supply Chain team and overall commodity strategy, demonstrating ownership, proactivity, technical excellence, creativity, self-direction, and courage

Vet suppliers’ production capabilities, factory layout, facilities, and workforce for inclusion in the Approved Supplier List

Support Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) in ensuring suppliers’ understanding and adherence to part quality criteria

Lead bringing up new production tooling and lines, development at suppliers as needed, to ensure materials, processes, and tools meet product performance, quality, and demand requirements

Own capacity expansion readiness and production ramp-up at suppliers

Establish and drive process performance and controls (SPC) reviews at suppliers

Identify and drive product and process improvements, factory layout optimization at supplier sites to lower part cost, reduce supply risk, eliminate defects, and improve cycle time

Support SQE with root cause task forces at Anduril by collaborating with Supply Chain, Suppliers, and ensuring closure of root cause corrective/preventive actions at supplier sites

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field

5+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialization within a manufacturing environment

Experience with mechanical casting manufacturing, IPC standards, CAD, GD&T

Ability to travel at least 50% of the time

Ability to relocate to onsite in Costa Mesa, CA if not local

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or metallurgical/materials engineering, or related technical field

Experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high-tech, or related industry

Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications

Experience developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment

Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance

Salary and Benefits

US Salary Range:

$128,000—$192,000 USD
