We are looking for a
Security Solution Engineer
with a drive to help solve complex security challenges for our customers, enabling them to modernize their security architecture and posture. You will be at the forefront of innovation, working on cutting-edge projects that leverage the latest technologies to drive meaningful impact. You will help customers improve their security, modernize their applications leveraging AI, and realize the full value of Microsoft’s platform. The Solution Engineer team engages directly with customers to contribute to their success and help our customers adopt Microsoft’s developer tools and cloud platforms. Responsibilities
Drive technical sales with decision makers using demos and PoCs to influence solution design and enable production deployments. Lead hands-on engagements—hackathons, code-with sessions, and architecture workshops—to accelerate adoption of Microsoft’s developer tools and cloud platforms. Build trusted relationships with developers and platform leads, co-designing secure, scalable architectures and solutions. Resolve technical blockers and objections, collaborating with engineering to share insights and improve products. Maintain deep technical understanding of cloud security architectures, solutions/technologies including Microsoft M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud and Sentinel. Develop strategies and recommendations to improve the client’s security posture, shape technical win plans, and tailor Microsoft messaging for security opportunities. Enhance team capabilities for extended detection and response (XDR), zero trust and cloud security; develop differentiated competitive strategies for Microsoft Security for assigned customers. Represent Microsoft through thought leadership in developer communities and customer forums. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience. Proven ability to lead technical engagements (e.g., hackathons, PoCs, MVPs) that drive production-scale outcomes. Experience designing and implementing Information Security, Privacy and Information Governance solutions leveraging Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Priva and Microsoft Purview offerings or other security and governance platforms. Working knowledge of Security Development Lifecycle and integrating security principles into the DevOps lifecycle in an enterprise environment. Working knowledge and application of Zero Trust Principles, Security Threat Modeling and Mitigation, Security Posture Management and Device and Workload Protection in an enterprise environment. Experience with Microsoft security solutions (M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel) or related technologies (e.g., Prisma Cloud, CrowdStrike, Proofpoint, Splunk). Other Requirements

6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or related experience, or equivalent. 4+ years experience with cloud/hybrid/on-premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and technology management. Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture). Base pay ranges mentioned: IC3 USD 85,100–169,800 per year across the U.S.; IC4 USD 106,400–203,600 per year across the U.S. Specific locations (San Francisco Bay Area, New York City) have adjusted ranges.
