Job Description Forward Slope Inc. currently has one (1) full-time opening for a Software Engineer III (Senior Software Engineer). This position is hybrid located in San Diego, CA and typically requires, on-site work of 3 days per week. This position has the option to work a 9/80 schedule, which is a compressed work schedule, with alternate Fridays off.

Forward Slope, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic software engineer to provide modern software development and sustainment of full-stack web applications for the Department of Defense (DoD). Day-to-day efforts include working with highly talented professionals and subject matter experts to support mission-critical software systems that provide US Navy warfighters with the tools and resources for successfully planning and executing missions.

Required Qualifications

Currently hold an active US security clearance or be able to obtain one

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physics

7+ years of demonstrated full-stack software development experience with:

Object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Python, C#, C++)

UI development with modern web technologies (e.g., Node.js, React, Angular)

RDBMS database design (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, MySQL) and data access layer design patterns

REST and Pub-Sub (e.g. Kafka, WebSockets) cloud-native microservices using standard structured data formats (e.g. JSON, XML)

Source Code Management (e.g., Git)

Containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

CI/CD automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Tekton)

OpenID Connect (OIDC) / OAuth 2.0

Microservice observability frameworks (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Micrometer)

Software build dependency management principles and tools (e.g. Artifactory/Nexus, Maven/Gradle/Make)

Experience with Agile software development

Experience with enterprise software architecture

Desired Qualifications

Software engineering experience with:

Automated testing (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)

Application Security analysis and vulnerability mitigation (e.g., SonarQube, Coverity, JFrog X-Ray, ZAP, Black Duck Software Risk Manager)

Java Quarkus 3.x Runtime

React Redux

Material UI React Components

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data management and rendering (e.g. ArcGIS, GeoServer)

CompTIA Security+ Certification

$125,000-$175,000*
