Build strategic relationships with Risk counterparts within major card network partners to help drive Stripe’s risk and commercial initiatives forward. Develop trusting and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to provide SME input and execute across multiple programs and initiatives. Be a subject matter expert in card network rules and become versed in Stripe’s risk policies in areas including fraud, credit, brand risks, and emerging industry trends. Partner with internal teams to understand, manage and mitigate key risks related to financial partners. Manage top priority user escalations and remediations, as needed. Drive growth strategies and negotiate terms with regional Risk Partnership teams and card networks, on behalf of Stripe. Responsibilities
Manage key risk relationships with our top card networks across the Americas, including building relationships, understanding partner requirements, and advocating for Stripe’s users and product teams. Drive discussions with card networks on the applicability of restricted/prohibited business lists or network operating rules and regulations. Dive deep into Stripe’s Risk systems to understand risk posture and technical risk management foundations. Build a close partnership with the Financial Partnerships team to align risk objectives. Collaborate with Risk, Product, Engineering and Operations to prioritize, scope and rollout launches. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years in external partner-facing roles Extensive experience with payment network rules of Visa and/or Mastercard Strong sense of ownership, resilience, and impact orientation Experience managing day-to-day risk across internal and external partners Strong stakeholder management, negotiating timelines, and influencing across organizations and borders Analytical approach to decision-making, including partnering with Data Science to build metrics Proven project/program management and experience scaling programs Excellent collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills Preferred Qualifications
In-depth understanding of product and payment platforms Experience in risk or compliance Team and Work Arrangement
Hybrid work at Stripe: available in-office or remote location (35+ miles / 56 km from a Stripe office). Compensation and Benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $149,800 - $224,700. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k), medical/dental/vision, and wellness stipends. Seniority level
