As a Product Marketing Manager at Sourcegraph, you will become an expert in generative AI for developer tools. This is a competitive space, and Product Marketing’s role to define our product narrative and deliver crisp content is critical to our success. If you’re interested in the intersection of generative AI, dev tools, and marketing (messaging, storytelling, and sales enablement), this role is for you. You will work collaboratively with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Sales teams. You will be a key content creator with an emphasis on technical content for individual developers and enterprise customers. You will create technical blogs, whitepapers, reports, and slide decks for marketing and sales support, craft demo flows and talk tracks, and develop live content that highlights our product strengths and trends for devs and generative AI. You will help tell customer stories and own analyst relations for Sourcegraph. You’ll establish a feedback loop between Sales, Product, and Marketing to inform our strategy and content in the generative AI space. While we’re a small company with evolving priorities, these are the main areas you’ll be responsible for: Technical product content (videos & written content) Product-specific support Bi-weekly & monthly release GTM Amp (shared) Product-led growth (shared) Content & thought leadership (shared) This role has potential to deepen our understanding of generative AI and our brand. It is both strategic and tactical: building our product narrative, creating content to grow developers’ love and awareness of Cody, especially in the enterprise segment. Milestones: Within one month: become an expert on our product; take over analyst relations; research new AI use cases via customer calls to inform marketing. Within three months: join customer and sales calls; report learnings weekly; publish technical blog posts; support product launches; contribute to website content and webpages. Within six months: build content for webinars; deliver best-practices resources for Sales and Customer Engineering (e.g., whitepaper on Cody or Amp use cases). Within one year: establish a formal feedback loop between Sales, Marketing, and Product; deliver high-quality technical content; create and maintain a demo flow and talk track used by sellers and marketers. About you
You have a technical background and a passion for working with customers and understanding go-to-market strategy. You’re curious about generative AI and its applications, a natural storyteller with strong communication skills, and interested in B2B technology or dev tools. Must haves: You enjoy writing and are a strong writer; clear communication of ideas is essential for this role. You have some experience with code and building apps; familiarity with AI coding assistants and the developer tooling landscape is important. You’re excited about a high-agency role with room for strategic thinking and hands-on work. You’ve worked in a product-led growth environment. You’re ready to do both strategic and tactical work (research, narrative storytelling, content creation, customer calls, and occasional webinars). Nice-to-haves: 5-7 years of experience in technical marketing or a similar role, ideally at a dev tools company. CSS background and experience in B2B SaaS or developer-oriented products. Experience creating technical content or collateral to support a sales team. Interest in working in a startup where the product and priorities evolve rapidly. Compensation and benefits
We offer an above-average salary with transparent pay bands visible to teammates. Salaries are determined by pay band, location, and role level (IC3/IC4) and may be adjusted in the future. Target compensation for this role is IC3 Zone 1: $158,500 USD; IC4 Zone 1: $180,000 USD. Equity and generous perks & benefits are also provided.
