In this role, the candidate is expected to own and drive the analysis of complex system level AI use cases involving Computer Vision Networks, Recommendation Systems and Gen AI workloads. The candidate is expected to partner closely with various ecosystem stakeholders in optimizing power and constrained performance of AI workloads on Qualcomms cutting edge inference accelerators. An ideal candidate would have prior experience working on Power/Thermal/Limits analysis at the product level, preferably with prior experience and/or background in AI products/use cases. In addition, the candidate is also expected to contribute to development of algorithms and techniques to optimize power consumption and thermal performance of various use cases, perform system level software optimizations using hardware and software power/thermal management techniques and finally, exploration of advanced machine learning techniques in solving system level power and limits management problems. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ARM assembly language, C, C++, Python Strong familiarity with ARM architecture Good understanding of System On Chip architectural concepts Power/Thermal/Performance optimizations to improve product level KPIs Prior experience with AI use cases and/or products, etc., is a plus Real-time operating systems, multi-threaded processor architectures Communication skills, effective team player, able to work independently Strong analytical and problem-solving skill Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field More than 8 years of experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems More than 8 years of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Leverages advanced Software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate critical embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs. Analyses user needs, software requirements, and time and cost constraints to design and customize sophisticated software for optimal operational efficiency. Designs and implements software sub-systems for complex, large-scale products and systems. Leads design, coding, and testing efforts to ensure that projects are completed to specifications and schedules. Performs highly complex code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code. Collaborates with individuals outside the software function (e.g., Hardware, Systems, and Test engineers) to increase leverage and design solutions that work with other components of a specific project. Writes detailed technical documentation for highly complex Software projects; reviews technical documentation for junior engineers. Level of Responsibility:
Works independently with minimal supervision. Provides supervision/guidance to other team members. Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success. Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc. Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions. Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
