Nashville, TN; Remote | Hybrid. This role is part of the Enterprise Architecture team which builds a holistic view and roadmap of the Company's technology strategy and processes. An Enterprise Architect is an enterprise-wide expert with broad technical skills, deep industry knowledge, and strong business acumen. The Enterprise Architect supports IT in developing value propositions that align with business strategies on digital transformation and cloud adoption. The Architect is a subject matter expert in one or more areas (e.g., business strategy, application architecture, data & information architecture). Enterprise Architects are expected to have strong communication and consultative approaches to engage with multiple teams including product management, engineering and other IT partners and define their transformation journey and steps to get there. Collaborates with Product and IT Leadership to build a strategic roadmap for platforms/systems supporting DaVita's strategic business units. Aligns IT strategy, investments and plans with DaVita's business goals and objectives. Effectively communicates IT strategy and vision with C-level executives, business leaders and IT leaders. Develops and maintains enterprise architecture in alignment with the overall IT vision, supporting the information needs of the business and/or manages and performs research and discovery activities, vet ideas, explore and validate emerging technologies and trends relevant to strategic and technical direction, while supporting business innovation and acting as a change agent. Partners with product and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions. Partners with Solution Architects to provide a consensus-based scalable and adaptable architectural solution. Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure a consistent framework across the company. Manages and/or facilitates Architecture Review Boards to evaluate technologies, design patterns and solutions. Provide data architecture / business expertise to other teams during system development; ensure data architecture is compatible with existing and future enterprise data architecture. Partner to develop strategies and roadmaps for AI, machine learning and other advanced analytics areas (e.g., natural language processing, ML platforms, data lakes). Create and articulate future-state data platform vision via architecture artifacts. Validate proposed architectures with proofs-of-concepts and/or MVPs. Provide technical guidance to design scalable data marts, data lake and data warehouse solutions, addressing and resolving complex technical issues. Offer formal technical guidance and informal assistance to engineering teams. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with highly skilled technical individuals and to communicate ideas with senior IT and business leadership. Extensive experience in data architecture, including executing large-scale data platform modernization and/or data migration projects. Experience in enterprise data integration and management with data warehouse technologies, data pipelines, and cloud data platforms. Deep knowledge of GCP cloud data platform technologies. Understanding of distributed systems, mobile, middleware APIs, highly available architectures, data/service virtualization, master data, data warehousing and enterprise reporting. Working knowledge of microservices architecture and domain-driven design. Proven track record with distributed streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) and event-based distributed systems. Familiarity with TOGAF or similar Enterprise Architecture methodologies (certification preferred). Healthcare industry experience with standards and regulations (HL7, FHIR, CCDA, HIPAA) is preferable. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline. 10+ years of information technology architecture experience. 5+ years in an enterprise architecture leadership role, architecting complex enterprise solutions in a cloud environment or equivalent. 5+ years of application design and development experience using object-oriented languages such as .NET C#, Java, and REST services. 2-3 years of hands-on experience architecting and designing data solutions leveraging GCP technologies (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataplex, Cloud SQL or Spanner). 4+ years of enterprise data strategy development and data analytics experience. 8+ years of deep solution architecture with a focus on data technologies. 2-3 years of working knowledge with modern data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks. Working knowledge of BI analytics tools such as Tableau or Looker. Recent experience in AI/ML, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs). Data modeling, data warehouse, data lake and DataMart architecture experience. Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migrations and roadmaps. Experience aligning solutions to global target architectures, standards, and roadmaps in distributed hardware, operating systems, and cloud computing. Note
