Our client is seeking a Vice President Credit Officer with expertise in Asset Backed Securities and Collateralized Loan Obligations to join a distinguished US Credit Risk Management team. This position oversees credit risk for sophisticated securitization financing activities, with emphasis on lender finance business encompassing middle market, broadly syndicated, and venture loan portfolios. Key Responsibilities
Support the review and credit approval process for Collateralized Loan Obligation warehouse facilities secured by middle market and broadly syndicated corporate loans, ensuring exposures remain consistent with the organization's risk appetite. Collaborate with First Line of Defense colleagues to structure transactions with robust risk mitigation strategies. Conduct analysis of underlying collateral quality by evaluating credit ratings, counterparty strength, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors impacting asset performance. Monitor market developments that could affect securitized assets' performance; identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation measures. Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda for transaction approvals and present findings at relevant credit committees. Participate in portfolio monitoring, stress testing, and responses to regulatory or audit requests to ensure ongoing compliance. Foster relationships with internal partners, challenge assumptions, and provide feedback throughout the transaction lifecycle. Communicate credit views clearly to senior management through written reports and presentations. Mentor and support junior staff in credit risk assessment. Lead discussions related to audit inquiries or regulatory reviews, ensuring accurate representation of the team's processes and controls. Key Requirements
To excel, you will have a strong academic foundation in finance or related disciplines with experience managing credit risk in structured finance, including CLOs or similar products backed by middle-market or broadly syndicated loans. You will have advanced analytical capabilities and strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with rating agency criteria, cash flow modelling, and corporate credit analysis is expected. You are a reliable collaborator who thrives under pressure and upholds rigorous standards of compliance. You will build trust-based internal relationships to support the deal process. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline. Demonstrable experience in credit risk management with exposure to CLO structures financing middle-market or broadly syndicated loans. Analytical skills and attention to detail for evaluating complex transaction structures and communicating findings. Ability to assess cash flow models used in structuring transactions. Experience working independently under time constraints with accuracy. Familiarity with securitization structures, rating agency methodologies, and corporate credit analysis, including high yield companies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative approach and interpersonal sensitivity for cross-department teamwork. Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff is advantageous. What sets this company apart
