Staff Mobile Engineer We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to help shape the future of our iOS and Android applications, used daily by a growing community of customers. This is a role for someone who loves building polished, high-performance mobile experiences and has the technical vision to set direction for years to come. You’ll be both a hands-on engineer and a strategic leader—contributing directly to key features while also guiding architecture, patterns, and long-term technical decisions. Your work will ensure our apps are fast, reliable, and delightful to use, while also helping our team grow and scale effectively. Our platform includes native Android (Kotlin/Java) and native iOS (Swift) applications, with shared libraries that support common functionality across the ecosystem. Responsibilities
Build & Deliver: Contribute directly to high-impact features, keeping performance, usability, and user experience top of mind. Guide Architecture: Lead the design of major cross-platform initiatives, creating scalable solutions that balance speed of delivery with long-term sustainability. Collaborate Broadly: Work closely with product, design, and platform teams to deliver cohesive experiences across mobile. Modernize the Stack: Drive efforts to replace older shared code with native implementations that improve maintainability and user experience. Plan & Prioritize: Lead technical discovery, provide effort estimates, and clearly communicate trade-offs and risks. Champion Best Practices: Introduce new frameworks, tools, and patterns that improve developer productivity and product quality. Promote Consistency: Establish shared standards and design patterns across mobile platforms while respecting platform-specific norms. Mentor & Coach: Support engineers at all levels, fostering growth and raising the technical bar across the team. User-Centric Mindset: Translate business and design goals into technical solutions that enhance the customer experience. Who You Are
Deep expertise in either iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin/Java), with strong knowledge of the other. Proven track record of building and shipping polished mobile features that reach users at scale. Experienced in architectural planning, technical discovery, and setting long-term direction. Comfortable balancing immediate product needs with long-term platform health. Skilled at aligning multiple teams around shared technical and product goals. Experienced at working in large, complex codebases and improving them safely over time. Strong communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Mentor and leader who thrives on helping others grow.
