This role is part of the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Product Development team. The Role

The Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) is a comprehensive fleet management system for mines. The autonomous trucks are centrally controlled through a wireless network that integrates on-board vehicle controllers, high precision global positioning, and obstacle avoidance systems. The AHS Product Development team builds innovative solutions to autonomous operation problems and partners with global teams to design and support the next generation of mine optimization technologies. As a Senior Software Engineer – Autonomous Haulage System (AHS), you will collaborate with product management, hardware engineering, and operations teams to conceive and design automation products. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in an open and collaborative environment. Travel Requirements

Up to 15%. The ability to travel internationally occasionally is a requirement for this position. Key Job Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, monitoring, and enhancement of services for Komatsu customers, including AHS services such as machine coordination, equipment management, navigation planning, collision detection, and safeguard management. Collaborate with Product Management and engage directly with customers to understand needs and clarify requirements. Evaluate engineering trade-offs and decide when to build new software, extend existing software, or integrate with external systems. Translate product requirements into a comprehensive system design with logical, maintainable, extensible, scalable, and loosely coupled component services and clearly defined interfaces. Basic Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 5+ years of programming experience with strong Java skills 2+ years of leading design or architecture related to new and existing systems Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team Desired Skills

5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations Experience in event-driven microservices and REST APIs Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been delivered Experience with network protocols, network programming, and distributed application debugging and analysis Komatsu is an Equal Opportunity Workplace and an Affirmative Action Employer.
