General Profile

This role is for a candidate having a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a strong academic background in material science & engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering (specialization in VLSI/chip design), metallurgy or mechanical engineering with specialization in material science. Candidates may also have educational backgrounds in sciences such as Physicist or Chemist.

Candidate should be self-starter and can work with minimal guidance, navigating cross-functionally. They should demonstrate a system thinking approach and synthesize information to take effective action. They can apply fundamental theories, principles, and concepts to solve real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, perform, collect data, analyze and compile reports on moderately difficult process engineering experiments.

Perform hardware characterization on moderately difficult systems; measure film properties and interpret data.

Troubleshoot basic problems, perform Root Cause Analysis, and resolve basic process engineering issues.

Measure film properties and organize data/reports for review; generate internal documentation for products, presentations, and technical reports.

Interact with customers to resolve basic process engineering issues under direct supervision.

Work with engineers, vendors, and suppliers under direct supervision.

Become familiar with the process of implementing new technology, products, and analytical instrumentation.

Work on system engineering projects with a mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design; apply expertise in the technical area of specialty.

Perform tests and provide feedback to product engineering and software on new designs and ongoing engineering improvements.

Problem identification and troubleshooting in the field of technical expertise, including serviceability and manufacturability.

Conceive and plan projects involving new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches for new or improved processes.

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in material science & engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering (specialization in VLSI/chip design), metallurgy or mechanical engineering with specialization in material science. Educational background in sciences such as Physicist or Chemist is acceptable.
