Represent Temp-Con at industry events, trade shows, and peer groups to expand visibility and influence. Ensure accurate, timely, and competitive estimates with consistent bid-hit ratios that support growth targets. Leadership & Growth Focus

The Chief Estimator will serve as both a strategic leader and culture-builder, setting the tone for integrity, collaboration, and excellence. This role requires someone with the courage to demand high standards, the empathy to build loyalty and trust, and the vision to scale a high-growth company. Success will be measured not only by accurate estimates and hit ratios, but also by the team’s ability to attract new opportunities, develop stronger partnerships, and consistently win major projects that fuel Temp-Con’s long-term expansion. Qualifications

8-10 years of mechanical contracting experience, with deep knowledge of estimating systems, labor factors, and cost analysis. Strong presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence executive-level decisions. At least 2 years in a Senior Estimator role or higher, managing teams of 4 or more. Experience estimating projects larger than $10 million, including HVAC Sheetmetal, Hydronic Piping, and Plumbing. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating platforms. Proven track record of contributing to revenue growth in a mechanical or plumbing contracting environment. Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, integrity, and accountability, inspiring high performance in both individuals and teams. Strong external presence in the construction industry (networking, industry groups, trade associations, client development). Strategic thinker with business acumen—able to align estimating decisions with long-term company growth. Preferred Qualifications

Experience scaling an estimating department to support revenue growth of $50M+ within a 5-year timeframe. Established relationships with regional GCs, developers, and owners. Experience with SaaS estimating platforms, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and advanced Excel (including macros). Experience with FastDuct and/or FastPipe; PowerBI skills a plus. Field experience in HVAC and/or plumbing; Master’s license in mechanical and/or plumbing trade. Demonstrated success in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. Work Environment/Expectations

This role is primarily office-based, with some travel required as business needs dictate.
