Overview
Sr. Bridge Inspection Engineer for our Denver, CO office. You will assist the Mountain Pacific Regional senior staff on a full-time basis with business development and winning bridge and tunnel inspection and repair work for CDOT and other transportation agencies. You will use your education, licensure, and relevant work experience to perform independent evaluation of the condition, function and load carrying capacity of structures and their components, forming recommendations to facility owners for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement. Your Impact
Plan, schedule, and perform CDOT bridge inspections in accordance with NBIS and the AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges, and in compliance with specific Bridge Owner requirements. Liaise with client field/facility staff; lead or assist with communicating critical condition findings. Direct other field team members. Enforce safe operations in the field. Create or assist with creating and/or reviewing required inspection reports. Ensure technical compliance with all applicable standards and specifications. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct; adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Support the Mountain Pacific Region and National Bridge Inspection group in performing bridge, ancillary, culvert and tunnel inspections in different jurisdictions as required. Assist in the preparation of proposals, tasks, reports, and other documents. Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. 10+ years of experience in NBIS bridge inspection with CDOT and other transportation clients. Project Manager/Team Leader experience in CO and other states as necessary. Extensive successful management of bridge inspection projects for CDOT. Attendance of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course and additional NHI courses (e.g., NSTM, LRFR and Scour related). Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences. Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and guide junior team members, with strict QA/QC adherence. Physically capable of continuous field work (heights, confined spaces, climbing, carrying equipment, adverse weather). Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking/problem solving abilities. Team-oriented with ability to work in a collaborative environment. Valid, unrestricted driver's license. Ability to supervise, train, and direct the work of team members. Time and budget management awareness. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP's health, safety and harassment policies; must complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening. Preferred Qualifications
FHWA/NHI Training beyond basics (e.g., Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges; Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures; Tunnel Safety Inspection). Experience inspecting complex bridges/tunnels for CDOT; inspecting ancillary sign structures for CDOT and other agencies. Familiarity with or certifications in NDT techniques and UAS applications; rope access techniques and/or UAS operations. Compensation and About WSP
Expected Salary: $125,200-$213,000. WSP USA provides the compensation range in good faith and may pay more or less than posted depending on education, experience, and location.
